We put together the questions we hear most often from homeowners and contractors across Meridian and Lauderdale County. If you do not see your answer below, it is a quick call — reach our team at (601) 685-4788 and we will walk you through it.
These answers are organized by topic: pricing and booking, sizes and capacity, permits and placement, what can and cannot go in the dumpster, and delivery and service area.
Pricing & Booking
How much does a dumpster rental cost in Meridian?
We use flat-rate pricing quoted by phone based on the size you need, your location and your project timeline. Call (601) 685-4788 for an exact quote.
Can I book a dumpster online?
Not currently — every rental is arranged over the phone with our team so we can size the container correctly and confirm delivery details. Call (601) 685-4788 to book.
Are there hidden fees in a flat-rate quote?
No. We quote a flat rate up front over the phone based on your project, so you know the cost before delivery. If your load ends up heavier or bulkier than discussed, we will always talk with you before adjusting anything.
How far in advance should I book a dumpster?
As soon as you have a project date in mind, though we often accommodate shorter notice and same-day requests depending on scheduling. Call (601) 685-4788 and we will tell you what is available.
Do you require a deposit to book?
Call (601) 685-4788 and our team will walk you through payment details for your specific rental when you book.
What happens if I keep the dumpster longer than planned?
Call (601) 685-4788 as soon as you know your timeline is shifting. We would rather adjust the schedule with you than have you rush a job to avoid a surprise.
Sizes & Capacity
What dumpster sizes do you offer?
Five sizes: 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard. See our
dumpster sizes page for dimensions and typical uses for each.
How do I know what size dumpster I need?
It depends on your project scope — a garage cleanout is very different from a whole-house remodel. Call (601) 685-4788 and describe the job and we will recommend a size.
What is the difference between a 10 yard and a 20 yard dumpster?
The 10 yard is our most compact size, suited to small cleanouts and single-room jobs. The 20 yard is roughly double the capacity, built for whole-house cleanouts and larger remodels. See our
10 yard and
20 yard pages for full details.
What size do I need for a roof tear-off?
A single-story asphalt shingle tear-off typically fits a 15 yard; larger or multi-layer roofs often need a 20 yard. See our
roofing dumpster rental page or call (601) 685-4788 with your roof size.
Can heavy material like concrete or brick go in any size?
No — weight limits matter more than volume for concrete, brick and similar heavy debris. See our
concrete and heavy debris page or call (601) 685-4788 before booking.
What if I am not sure and pick the wrong size?
Call (601) 685-4788 and describe your project before booking — we size these calls every day and would rather get it right up front than have you guess. If you are between two sizes, we will tell you honestly which one fits better.
Permits & Placement
Do I need a permit for a dumpster on my driveway?
No. Placing a dumpster on private property — a driveway, yard or lot you control — never requires a permit anywhere in our service area.
What if the dumpster needs to sit in the street in Meridian?
Right-of-way placement in Meridian falls under Chapter 20 (Streets, Sidewalks) of the Meridian Code of Ordinances. No specific fee is published, so call the city to confirm the current requirement, or call us at (601) 685-4788 and we can point you in the right direction.
What about permits in unincorporated Lauderdale County?
Communities like Toomsuba, Collinsville, Bailey and Suqualena do not have their own town government, so right-of-way and permit questions there go through the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors rather than a city hall.
Does Marion have its own permit rules?
Yes. Marion is the only other incorporated municipality in Lauderdale County and runs its own permitting process, separate from Meridian's. Contact the Marion town office directly if your placement needs to sit off private property.
Where can I check placement rules myself instead of taking a hauler's word for it?
Meridian right-of-way rules are published in the city's Code of Ordinances, and county-level questions go through the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors at lauderdalecounty.org. We are always glad to point you to the right office when you call.
What Can Go In
What can I throw away in a rented dumpster?
Most household junk, furniture, construction debris, yard waste and general remodeling materials are fine. Call (601) 685-4788 if you are unsure about a specific item.
Can I throw away paint, batteries or cleaners?
No — per Mississippi DEQ guidance, batteries, paints, cleaners, automotive products and pesticides are considered household hazardous waste and should not go in with regular trash or a rented dumpster. These need separate drop-off or disposal.
Can I put old computers or monitors in the dumpster?
We would recommend recycling them instead. Mississippi DEQ's Electronic Waste program page is a good resource for finding a proper recycling option rather than sending working electronics to a landfill.
Can I put tires or propane tanks in the dumpster?
No — tires, propane tanks and appliances holding refrigerant need separate disposal and generally cannot go in a standard roll-off container. Call (601) 685-4788 and we can point you toward the right option.
Can I dispose of storm debris after severe weather?
Yes, routine storm cleanup like downed tree limbs and wind- or hail-damaged roofing debris is a common use for our dumpsters, especially during Mississippi's spring storm season.
What about construction and demolition debris?
Wood, drywall, flooring, roofing and general construction or demolition debris are all standard loads for our containers. Concrete, brick and other heavy material may need a dedicated container due to weight limits — see our
concrete and heavy debris page.
Delivery & Service Area
What areas do you deliver to?
We cover Meridian, Lauderdale County and the surrounding communities, including Marion, Toomsuba, Collinsville, Lauderdale, Bailey, Russell, Daleville, Suqualena, Meehan and Vimville. See our
service area page, or call and ask — we often go further than the list for the right job.
How does delivery work?
Once you book by phone, we schedule a delivery window and our driver places the container where you would like it, checking for solid, level ground and clear overhead space first.
Do you offer same-day delivery?
Often, yes, depending on scheduling and location. Call (601) 685-4788 and ask — we will give you a straight answer for your timeline. See our
same-day dumpster rental page for more.
How do I schedule pickup when I am finished?
Just call (601) 685-4788 when you are ready and we will schedule pickup. We can also set an estimated pickup date up front when you book if you already know your project timeline.
Will delivery damage my driveway?
Our drivers take care with placement, but it is always worth mentioning any concerns about a sensitive driveway surface when you book so we can plan placement accordingly.
